Just another WordPress.com site

WARNING: May cause hunger!

For any of you who enjoy delicious macaroni and cheese, keep reading!

Velveeta’s taken their “Golden Skillet” campaign a step further with an interactive ad! On omg!, Yahoo!’s golden celebrity lifestyle site, you can now watch Velveeta’s Golden Skillet ad and then continue on to “Forge Your Own Story”.

When you first get to the site, you can choose to sign in with or without Facebook. I assume signing in with Facebook lets you show off your own “Forged Story” and invite friends to the site. Next, you get to watch Velveeta Cheesy Skillets being made while the page loads, instead of just a boring hourglass or something. Once you’re in, you’ll find a page that looks just like the recent Velveeta/blacksmith commercials (dimly lit, big wooden table, flickering candles). Then, you get to a large, ancient looking book and can opt to read a story that eerily relates to you. Mine looked like this…

From there, you can go and watch stories people have written about Velveeta Cheesy Skillets or make a story of your own to put up on the site. I’ve never had Velveeta Cheesy Skillets, but I’m gonna make it my mission to try them before the end of break!

  1. Not only am I going to visit that site, I’m gonna buy some Velveeta this weekend. That sounds so good right now. I like how the ad personalizes itself towards you. That is a great concept. I guess if you sign in with Facebook, Velveeta somehow has access to some of your information. You have to read the fine print of your Facebook agreement to see where they talk about that being “OK” to do. Good post, thanks.
